Mercedes introduced the C-Class SportCoupé (codenamed CL203) to Europe in October 2000 as a three-door hatchback coupe with a fastback profile, based on the regular W203 C-Class range. The SportCoupé was spun off into its own separate line called the CLC-Class in 2008.
